I am a freelance consultant, currently based in the UK. An education specialist with 24 years experience in education delivery, planning and policy formulation, I have a particular focus on International Development and Human Resource management and development. I have worked and travelled extensively in Europe, Africa and Latin America. I speak and am able to work comfortably in English, French, Portuguese and Spanish. I also have a working knowledge of German.


From 2005 to 2008 I worked in a series of roles at both delivery and strategic level in education development in Mozambique. These included planning and delivering teacher training; coordinating a participative research project on education worker motivation and morale; and providing technical support on strategic Human Resource management and development policy to the Mozambican Ministry of Education and Culture

I went to work in Mozambique after 17 years as an academic educationalist, linguist and teacher trainer at the University of Reims Champagne-Ardenne in France.  This gave me extensive experience and advanced skills in education policy formation and project management; teacher recruitment and continuing professional development; research design and execution; and teacher training. In parallel to academic work, I spent a decade as a voluntary caseworker and section coordinator for the CIMADE, a French NGO, working with migrants and refugees and supporting development projects in Africa.

I am driven by the conviction that education is an essential key to promoting economic and political development; combating social injustice and exclusion; and maximising and enabling the potential of individuals, organisations and countries. I have both theoretical and applied knowledge of:
